Vice City RPG Mod T2

So, Dark Dragon DX and I came up with an idea, (From using his Vice city voice packs many times,) To create an rpg mod with Vice City voices, Maps, animations, and vehicle coding.

It would be nice if this idea concept could be brought to life and built.
If you would like to help, PLEASE post in this thread saying you want to, if you want this idea to come to life.

  • I dunno...
  • That's real explanatory........

    Wow, nice reply.
  • Well, I don't like GTA.
  • Alviss : Eolk to people translation Well, I don't like GTA.
Tycho: Eolk to people translation: "I'm a pussy."

I crack myself up. Yah, i'll code a lil sumthing if you want, just name it.
DDDX, do you know how to texture TGE shapes in Blender?
  • I didn't say I wouldn't toss a little bit of code. I just don't like GTA.

    I have no idea.
  • Whoa I'm surprised that some people still play Gta Vice city i have GTA but it's in my cousins
  • Lol, put in the GTA cheat codes for the console ^^
  • So, The project will be held as 'on hold' for now. DDDX emailed Rockstar North about this, hopefully we get a yes.
  • I could do some maps, I suppose.
  • Yeah, what we need to do is use editor for islands and the sea, then use SI and make the cities, then put the cities as part of the map

Or just use custom interiors. Uses one piece per building, saves up ghosts and helps load faster. Allows you to add shadows for the buildings too. :D
  • Companies don't give a shit if you use their copy writin material, they only care if you make a profit off it, or at least thats what i think.

Prolly a good idea to check.
  • think about all the master-chief skins in T2

    Negitive.
  • That's "Negative".
  • That's "Negative".

    Oh well.
  • Not entirely, I faxed them after eolk told me to
  • I would help, but I'm not sure you guys would want me tagging along, I haven't been up to scripting or coding anything for a while.

You can tag along for a bit, if you can't help, we'll credit you in some way for trying.
    :D
  • I'm going to quote this from a site.

"Not all uses require permission. Some works - particularly older works - have fallen into the public domain and can be used by anyone without prior permission. At other times, student media can claim a "fair use" of a copyrighted work that allows them to use a limited amount of that work without permission as part of bona fide news reporting or commentary. Unfortunately, determining whether a work is in the public domain or whether a use qualifies as a "fair use" can sometimes be tricky. At other times it's simply clear that no excuse or justification for using someone else's work without permission exists. They own it. You want to use it. You need their permission."

So, summarizing all of the said above paragraph, we don't need to use all of their crap for the mod, but we CAN ask them about the voicepack, ( i didn't ask them about that yet. ). So, I have to resend them a fax or email about using the voicepack. And we can possibly create our own material from scratch, rather than ripping, we could scratch our entire idea, *leave the voicepack out of this picture for now* and renaming it to something else. We can make up our own models, characters, structures, etc.

If you're still up for it.
  • W0000! do it! doooo ittt!
