Tribal Era coming to a close
As we say goodbye to the original hosts, and usher in a new era of the continued survival of tribes 2...I feel its necessary to look back, and remember those that made the game what it was, what it continued to be, and what it is today. Because everyone put a lot of time and effort into it. Some a few months, and some over 7 years. Time that I feel must be recognized in the use of betterment and survival of one of the most, unarguably, best FPS' ever made.
So I will be hosting a Tribes 2 Server, running construction .69, On Katabatic (A Universal favorite), on Nov 5 (If the servers last that long..lol), at 5pm Pacific Time. We will have as many people there to bring this era to a close, and remember those who have left, and have stayed with us throughout the years, and those newer players that have come in the past couple years. I open invitations to any player, construction, Classic, shifter, etc to attend, as this affects us all.
We, of the construction community, will have a ceremonial "Last Deconstruction of the L.S.B.", the building block of our Mod. Undecided yet to who will have the honors, along with recognition of all key people, and contributors to the mod, and its ongoing efforts.
Representatives from other mods can do what you see best to bring a close of a 7 year gaming era.
Lets see a good turnout. If you cannot make it, reply to this thread. If you can, see you on the 5th. If the servers are down by then, we will host this ceremony on the opening of the new server.

Well Yes, it is just a game, but its a game many people put countless hours of their own RL time into. To make it grow and expand to be what is is today.
So I personally felt it fitting to host a recognition ceremony in saying thanks to those that stuck it out over the 7 years of this games development, and making it what it is today for the newer players, and for the eventual newbloods that come in after the new server is up.
In short, we don't need negative comments, this is to show some sort of recognition to those that put in a lot of time to see this game come here.
This has got to be the fucking BEST metaphor anyone could come with for the current state of affairs T2 is on.
(No, I'm not being ironic.. just overreacting)
I love you...
I miss the old days.
RIP Jadakizz, Mister13, Gigawa. There was another kid that just made it to college and a blood vessel ruptured, can't remember his name... a really good guy and skilled T2 player.
It was scheduled tonight at 8pm Eastern time. Are we still going through with it by using the Alternate Master server, or will we postpone until the permanent solution is in place?

I miss the old days when everyone played the original construction mod and played on either Katabatic or Firestorm. No one cared about spam and everyone just played for fun. Good times.
At the time those maps were released (and I'm pretty sure they were only a week apart), my server was probably sporting the #Rawr32.net tag and running UltimateBuild. By the time Quantium X came out though, it had been running Metallic for quite a while.
Sounds like the golden age went on without me
And for those that don't know, When the original mod was still being developed was the old times lol.
*CMDR gets on soapbox*
The construction community was, at one time, vibrant and active, with sometimes as many as 20 servers with people in them. Katabatic, Firestorm, and Thin Ice, were the maps people used before Flatland. Remembering the development of everything from crates, to escape pods...decoration packs and trees. Some of the more prominent clans were E2K (Preliminary to =pirate), The construct (Original Dev Teams clan), LBC (I think thats the acronym) -CB- (My clan), -B- (Brak's Clan of followers) and more If I could remember 6-7 years ago lol.
Then a "Dark age" hit, where most of the community went on to bigger and better things. We had very few people at all playing, and those that were, were trying to revive as best as they could.
Now the community is growing back to a decent size. Newbloods that have started within the last couple years have grown to be some excellent builders. And the survival of the community is up to you all.
We have survived for many years, bringing new advancements, mods, and resources to the builders arsenal. Due to the community that decided to stay and continue the building of this Mod, we will advance and become our own entity, and continue to grow in numbers.
So, with that said, when server is ready, the new clan to construction, the "Phoenix Architects" will be formed. A testament to our continued survival, even after the game creators tried to pull the plug. Invitations are open to all players of the community.
Welcome to the new Era of construction friends, lets make it a good one.
