i was wandering because i thought it might be very fun, provided it was votable and objective packs were added/debugged/reintrduced, a con-ctf or con-seige would seem very cool but once i figure out how to make a poll i reckon we should vote on it as a suggestion type thing...

Most players don't seem as interested in the flag/base capturing as they are in either Team or Individual death matches...
There is a mod called "Combat Construction Mod" and an addon named "Advanced Combat Construction Mod."
Look into it.
there are those, but quite a few mods are more focused on pvz not pvp, which does happen to have its own appeal too, thats what im trying to get at to be honest...

in my experience, balancing the zombie/players difficulty is a responsability of the admin, not the mod developer.
While combat can be good fun, a lot of players do come in to have a break from all that, talk among friends, and throw together a shack or something. Enabling combat options on the official servers in the past has shown to be a sure-fire way to see the server empty out as soon as they're done shooting, and to scare off anyone who wants to build in the meantime.
We did have an official server server (X2) running ACCM for a short time during the summer which was fairly popular, but that was mostly used for huge zombie assaults. Construction itself has always technically supported combat (base), simply by disabling purebuild and switching to a map with objectives. The objective packs from metallic were functional, if buggy... I never really put any time into fixing up those kinds of things in the version I run, but I might just do something about that later on.
Wtf is the fun in winning against zombies? You sir are a ccm nub, i don't except you to understand. But there is nothing more fun then trying to reclaim a tainted base after you've failed to stop the cancer from spreading. Failure is the fun in zombies. >:)
Yeah, I think the fun part of Zombies is that you know they will end up overwhelming you.

I think everything is pretty decent as far as PvP goes. Weapons can nuke a guy fairly easily, it's not ridiculous unloading of clips into people to make them dead in some games. (A)(TWM)CCM is acceptabley realistic. (Unacceptabley realistic is.... too real)
The zombies are just fine too. They can take a few hits, then fall down. (They are the living dead after all) Although... i've always seen the zombies as more of an alien monster type life form...
They could use a small speed boost maybe. but just norms...
Still, it was a cool mod.
Normal zombies are boring, and need to be charging speed all the time. Ravagers need to be easier to hit with a projectile weapon. Demons are fine, Rapiers are annoying, but fine. Lords, well are easy...if you can get inside something.
Vehicles need a level of customization in weapons, where you can say, switch a load out in a chopper to be a support ship (Repair/drop ammo/Target paint), Standard missile load out, Heavy missile load out (Artillery rocket or something like the JDAM).
Tanks could have an artillery shell (standard), Nuclear round etc.
And vehicles load outs can only be changed at the vehicle repair pad, rename to Vehicle Maintenance pad.

Yes, I did once, I also made an arena for us all to kill eachother on and play CTF in.
We played in that for a bit, then it got old fast.

PvP and PvZ are not meant to be balanced between one another.
They are 2 different game types, and are not meant to be taken as other wise.
PvP is supposed to be fast and furious like real combat is, but still fun so its not overly realistic and stupid.
PvZ is supposed to be not too hard but challenging, so its not a crop shoot, even though when i run into the middle of a zombie swarm i always die but I still own.
Walking back to base is never fun.
unless you are a zombie hunter like me, who is niether afraid of dying nor cares, and should it come to it ill stachel myself rather than be dishonoured by becoming the prey... rawr...
