Trying to re-install to play again..

Quite a few years ago I was playing T2 Construction mod, loved it to death, etc.. I have since moved and lost my T2 CD and key. A few questions for the knowledgable:

Do note I am downloading T-next right now.. but:

1) I DL'ed tribes2_gsi.exe a while ago and tried to install it. At around 15% it would simply stop responding. I then deleted it and moved on with my gaming, discouraged at the inability to resolve the issue.. this brings me to my first question.. if I download TribesNext.. will I be able to install it on XP without much of a hassle?

2) **EDIT** Removed this due to reading the front page at TribesNext website ^_^;;

Any help on these would be greatly appreciated.. I did a little thumbing around on the forums.. but it didn't help me any =/

    Try re downloading the T2 installer from here: http://dl.rawr32.net/tribes2gsi.exe

    Hmm.. I'll try that if TribesNext fails. :P Or is TribesNext simply a multiplayer work-around for the lack of support from Sierra?

    Also, is there a torrent that I can snag that file from? Or any download manager you know of? I'm working off of wireless.. so I'm not sure if the connection will hold throughout the night. ^^; I might kick it up first thing in the morning though.

    The tribesnext site has links to torrents. Also, all of the links at Tribesnext are the full unaltered game. After you have that installed you also install the Tribesnext patch seperately. If you are playing a lot of construction download this: http://xfer1.the-construct.net/tribes2/etc/StructuralInfinity.exe
    That lets you see over 1,000 pieces in game on servers that support it.

    So I've got it installed, even installed the SI version.. and it's not letting me run a construction mod in either LAN or online.. I can't seem to get the packs or tools.. it just runs a normal game with normal weapons.. even when I run it as a construction game.

    **EDIT** I was able to enable Purebuild.. however when I place an object (Light Support Beam) it doesn't lay correctly.. it simply looks like a flat beam stretching the entire breadth of the map o.Oa

    Make sure the DSOs in your do_not_delete folder are there.

    Woot thank you! I guess I messed with 1 too many things.. reinstalled construction mod and ran DSO remover.. works just fine

    Woot works ^_^ Made the mistake of enabling MTC mode :O After 2 hours of building.. =/

    I get a ue before anything loads. The screen goes black as if it's about to load, and then it flips out. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything fresh (since the old copy has been installed since about 06), but to no avail. Same thing.

    p.s. Same computer as it was back then...
