Goodbye

Well, after installing Windows Vista, I appear to get massed with UE's when trying to start Tribes 2. Reinstalling did not fix. So I am forced to quit playing Tribes 2. If i am ever on, it may be because I am at my brothers house.
If any of you have a solution, please let me know.

  • Tried running it in compatibility mode? I don't have Vista, but some of the guys (EEK) in IRC do and run T2... perhaps they know of a way to fix it.
  • Well, nothing worked. I tried running it as administrator, i tried setting the compatibility mode for it, nothing works
  • I say you should get XP back :P
    Better than having to quit T2 <_<
    I believe Vista stinks anyway
  • Well.....

    heres the thing.
    I kind of, sold my xp disc on ebay for like 50 bucks.. so..
    theres no chance going back to XP for me.
  • Like I said, should ask someone who runs T2 on vista if they had to fix any issues.
    I'm not familiar with settings in vista that might cause issues, but I'd suggest disabling the intro and perhaps using D3D as your display device to see if it's just a driver issue. In your clientprefs.cs that is:
    $pref::SkipIntro = "1";
    $pref::Video::displayDevice = "D3D";
  • I'm running Vista Ultimate with the most current updates and I have had no problems at all.

    I had some problems with the keyboard not working while X-fire ingame messaging was turned on for T2, but I just turned that off and it worked fine. It sounds like a driver issue like Krash said.
