Put the vl2 file in gamedata/base/
If it looks like a zip, either use save target as with "all types" selected when you download, or go into folder options > view and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" so you can change it.
To host a server, just download the mod, extract to gamedata, run the dso remover, and click on the provided shortcuts.
If you downloaded the map properly, it will not be a zip file. It will only be so if you allowed internet explorer to save the filetype incorrectly, and the above post covers that.
i feel dis-hearted that Kaid isnt a forum-admin
Great sense of humor + Can be "that other guy" that we dis-liek slightly but would miss sadly if he went away

got that on screen.
(You'll only need to do step 1-4 once)
- Go into tools > folder options
- Click the view tab
- Uncheck "Hide extensions for known filetypes" (about halfway down the page)
- Press OK
- Right-click on flatland.vl2.zip
- Choose "Rename"
- Rename the file to flatland.vl2
Press Enter, make sure the file is in Tribes 2\GameData\Base, and you're good to go. Restart Tribes 2 if you haven't already.Your lucky I'm not a moderator on the forums.
