  • Put the vl2 file in gamedata/base/
If it looks like a zip, either use save target as with "all types" selected when you download, or go into folder options > view and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" so you can change it.

To host a server, just download the mod, extract to gamedata, run the dso remover, and click on the provided shortcuts.
    * Install latest T2 patch......................................... check?

    * Install latest Construction..................................... check?

    * Delete ALL *.dso files in both base and Construction folders,
including subfolders, EXCEPT in the "do_not_delete" folder .....

    * Verify that all *.dso files are deleted.........................

    * Verify that your Construction launch shortcut is correct........

    * Launch Construction before launching a base game again..........

    * Verify that you have no other add-on scripts causing problems...
  • ok....
    what mod called?
and.... do i un-zipp the folder?
  • If you downloaded the map properly, it will not be a zip file. It will only be so if you allowed internet explorer to save the filetype incorrectly, and the above post covers that.

There are a number of mods, check this thread: http://www.the-construct.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9 for a few of the most popular.
  • where do i find the dso thing?

  • Where is the Construction launch thing??
  • Once you've extracted the mod to gamedata, both things you're looking for will be in Tribes2\GameData\Construction
  • kk.
    got that on screen.
  • Here's a step by step process to rename the map you've downloaded from a zip to a vl2:
(You'll only need to do step 1-4 once)

    1. Go into tools > folder options
    2. Click the view tab
    3. Uncheck "Hide extensions for known filetypes" (about halfway down the page)
    4. Press OK
    5. Right-click on flatland.vl2.zip
    6. Choose "Rename"
    7. Rename the file to flatland.vl2
Press Enter, make sure the file is in Tribes 2\GameData\Base, and you're good to go. Restart Tribes 2 if you haven't already.
