When i played it, it was advertised as a free engine, and it came with many test maps (One being an absolutely massive rpg map, which i thought was pretty fucking badass), each map is it's own mod of sorts. You can script items, events, and models (I think this one) in game.

Yeah I played the free version back in the day. It can be very addicting.

Yep. from what I can get from it you can't go AS specific as Tribes 2 can get but it's still very entertaining.

I have been informed on this thread that this game is "awesome" and so I went and downloaded and tried it out and I found a great FPS.
So I thought "Hey, I'm gonna post some of my crappy screenshots of the game and put it on the The-Construct forums!" ah ha ha. Memories...

So here they are. You don't really see the multiplayer mode, but I have to say that the online is fantastic. Very straight forward controls and maps that will not be forgotten anytime soon.
Campaign is also very fun and enjoyable. Although I have to say the AI isn't to good on the enemies but it's still fun.

Also on Multiplayer has a construction mode called coop edit which isn't as good as Tribes 2 cause... Tribes 2 construction kicks ass, but it still a good mod and is worth to take a look.

So yes. Cube 2 in my opinion, is great.
