Yeah... I've had something big underway for both MC and T2 but was grounded until just a few days ago, and I don't 'feel' like working 24 hours to make it on time. Also, Zip, get on T2 more often... Or at least at the same time as me. Or die. Your choice.
Nice contest, kinda cool to see us branched out into different games but still holding strong in the same community. Kudos to Krash for the idea and the prizes.
You should be able to - sounds like a bug if not. I haven't played the game extensively myself, but you could check their Steam forums, where I think the devs are fairly active, and there might be some info on setting it up.

With the joystick, it seems I can't invert the y-axis so it's gonna take some unlearning first.

Windows should give you an option to invert that.
(not 100% sure on this one -out of town; don't have my joystick)
Try looking under control panel ->game controllers ->select your joystick
