The inner walls of the ring were lined with stacked gravity fields (5 per ring segment), and the ring was constructed at 3 degrees. The gravity fields are invisible in the recording, because they were deghosted to save pieces.
If they were visible, the ring would use 1320 pieces, instead of the 720 that it did.
I think that is the largest ring of its type ever created, and I built it to measure maximum player velocity. I think I might try a 2.25 degree ring (33% bigger) to see if I can get any velocity improvement on the TR2 Heavy armor.
