On advancedmod, the TX server, etc.

Plutonium and his business parter recently parted ways, and in the course said business partner managed to cancel the services without notifying Plut; in so forth that he didn't have time to create a backup. It's possible there may be some older backup laying around some place, but I wouldn't know.

Plut will [strike]have a new server soon (probably a week or so)[/strike] has a new server ready, which he tells me will be somewhat better than the old. A dual core xeon, 4gb of ram, 1000mbps uplink and the works.

  • Does this have to do with advancedmod or the TX server?
  • Yes, both were hosted on the same server.

Ok, thanks, and by the way, you should have just said, "Both were hosted on the same server." Look more carefully at what I posted. ;)
  • I have a relatively recent copy of the Advanced Mod database, and by "relatively recent", I mean from the start of June 2007.
  • My post is a perfectly appropriate response in the context of "Yes, this has to do with advancedmod or the TX server."
  • He's got the new server ready and set up my user quickly before logging off, should be able to set up the TX server sometime tonight or tomorrow.
  • Are the prefs sync'ed up (such as autobans, etc) every daily/weekly/monthly, or are they not sync'ed up at all?
  • Krash, if a Construction Game becomes a reality, will you still be hosting both TX and BC servers for T2? Or will you just change one of them to the Con Game? Or just get a whole new server for the game?

I put the question in this thread because it seems relative.
  • The settings were all synced up through a DB on here back in the summer, but it was switched back to just manually copying the settings over when they're needed after the server dropped the first time.

Yes, the T2 servers will still be run. For the new game I'll try to at least have the BC server up, the TX server may have to wait until there is either a Linux server build or we get another windows server.
