[hey Krash, just a thought i had, what do you think about adding in an in-game command for the L.S.B Weekly, so when you type, oh say....../lsb, the magazine would come up on the screen and you could read it.]
[You know, we really need headlines rather than stories. Stories would have to be put on some extra fake pages inside or in some special section of the forums, while the headlines would just be stuck on the front and everyone would know exactly what they're talking about without needing extra information.
The thing with showing a copy of LSWeekly ingame, while possible (the writing text on a forcefield idea is not - at least without generating an image with a line of text and using it as the texture), would of course be clientside. It'd just be a script that would download and save a smaller copy of the image and pop it up on screen
For it to be serverside it'd just be a scorehud with the headlines and such on it.
The hidden message in the barcode isn't something you can just read, or the date (that's written right below it), but encoded right into the bar sequence. ]
[Just as well, I don't think a bar code reader would even figure it out properly after it's been smushed to odd proportions like that. It'll have something proper in the final version.]
