As far as MMO's go. WoW is very generic, now most MMO's are like WoW, just as WoW is like the MMO's before it (no really, but it shares some similarities).
I signed up for the regular warhammer mmo (warhammer online) beta with the tribalwar blood eagle guild a little under a year ago, but I stopped checking in anywhere outside of IRC about two months after I signed up. I probably won't even get in till close to the end of the beta because of that.

There was a recently announced MMO by THQ based upon the Warhammer 40k universe, they had such success with THQ's Dawn of War line of games, they decided to take it one step forward.
Warcraft is based off of Warhammer, and Starcraft is based off of Warhammer 40k.
And say what you all want, I have a life, and I play WoW.
It sure beats paying 40$ every 2 weeks to a month on new games, because they lose thier replayability.
And if most of you actually made your own money, you'd understand $15/mo is pretty cheap for good/consistent entertainment.
And just because WoW has made people lose thier lives over it dosne't make it a bad game, just retarted people that play it do that to themselves.
You could say Doom caused Columbine School shootings, but was it the pixelated green marine with a chaingun shooting those kids? Nope, it was the off the handle kid behind the game taking it way to seriously.

Most ppl around me are 12 or approaching, they ALL play and ALL continue even when they say theyre quitting. I doubt they will ever get lives, just a job to pay bills and food.
Gettin a job helps, a girl can't tell if your dorky and have no social life when you're wearing a uniform, unless you talk about your gaming prowess, or say OMG and lawl, or anything else a normal teen wouldn't say.
If they still don't talk to you then, it means you're ugly. So, you'll have to make up for it with a killer personality. I have both, looks and charm.
