Quantium Install/Information

A while back I had a huge packet of information about the quantium build mod. It had installation instructions, commands, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I was wondering if this information is still floating around, or if there is another mod like it that has information for it? I'm trying to get back into the swing of building and want a mod with some documentation that can help me out. Thank you.

  • I have a ton of commands saved in an email that I think are for quantium. i got them from three different sources so a lot of them are repeats and i know that quite a few of them don't work but I can post them if you want. the problem is i'm not sure which ones dont work so the list is really long.
  • hrm, every time i try to post it I get an error saying this service is temporarily unavailable. i can send it to your email if you want.

ps. im also sure krash has a nice list of commands for metallic 1.4 and that seems to be a more popular mod these days.
  • Heh, I haven't been around on weekends much these days so I seem to miss a few of these threads.
Most people who get back into building just dive in and start putting something together, so it's usually just an issue of reminding them what the keys are and showing off any new things, but I guess when they plan on hosting and don't remember a thing there's a little more to it.
For installing though, you just extract the mod to your "Dynamix/Tribes2/GameData/" directory so that you have a Construction folder in gamedata, run the dso remover, and then run one of the shortcuts provided to start the mod.

Anyways, the most extensive documentation you'll find for any mod these days is right on these forums. That's not to say it's complete in any way - or centralized for that matter - but on a question by question basis it's your best sure bet at troubleshooting any problem. For a lot of common construction topics you can just have a look at previous threads, for something that hasn't been discussed yet you can start a new thread and get answers. There's often somebody ingame who may be able to point you in the right direction if we're not around.
Metallic 1.4 is pretty messy as far as interface text and the like (the man who wrote it is dyslexic), but it does have help commands and is quite useable for building. Once I have the time to finish 1.5, I'll make sure to write up some documentation.

In this post there's an old console command list as well as a link to the post with the M1.4 chat commands:

  • that had a lot of the stuff I was going to say, plus a lot more.

I think that we had one of the same sources for some of that stuff =)
