After some clicking around it turns out that he works for NASA. That explains his websites.

I'm seriously tempted to try this.

    Not a waste of time if he makes money off of 'em. Apparently he sells kits.

    lol, I guess that video needed a bit of context.

    Making something similar out of balsa/bass wood would be much easier than cardboard but that would be too expensive. = /

    The best idea I can come up with is a wire-cutter assembly to cut the cardboard. He uses lasers.
