I got a new computer and the motherboard isn't working, so I won't be able to play Tribes on a good computer for 2 to 3 days :/... My old computer is also taken apart right now, but I can probably put it together tomorrow or the day after (Depending on homework load and if I get a new motherboard.)

    That's a bummer. I've had mostly good luck as far as motherboards go, can't say the same for some other parts that have come DOA. What was wrong with yours exactly?

    It displayed "FF" immediately when I started the computer.. I have a new board now though, gunna put it together later. I'm not gunna use my new harddrive yet though since I'd need to install XP and I have a ton of homework today

    Was it an epox board? I seem to recall a few years ago they had a lot of faulty bios chips, but some people got it working by either resetting the cmos, replacing the PSU, or reseating the CPU.

    Though I think an "FF" post code usually means that the system has posted and passed control to the boot sector... I may be mistaken on that of course, and it would depend on your bios.

    Well, the new board works, i just need a copy of XP now.. i should have it by tomottow.

    The new computer has:
    NFORCE 780i SLI motherboard
    3.0 ghz core 2 duo processor
    nVidia 9800 GTX graphics card
    a 500gb harddrive
    and its all in an Antec 900 case

    Download from internet? I had illegal one before i changed it to legal one.

    If one possesses a corporate edition of XP w/SP2 slipstreamed in, (which is a 'genuine' copy,) but no longer works for the origional corp, does that make the copy illegal?

    (Hypothetical question. I know the answer :P )

    I only have a super crappy computer to download XP with, so that wouldnt work. Someone I know has a copy that they're bringing in about an hour
