some machines do have trouble with the codec for the intro video, so you might try setting $pref::skipintro = 1; in your clientprefs.
Most of what you need to know to get the game to work is already on the forum, you just need to know what to search for.

and euh i did add : $pref::skipintro = 1; this but, still doesnt work.
and some times when i start t2 classic online, after the lil movie,.
it stays black. and when i go out of t2 my comp looks older not like XP but much older? .
Right click on "My Computer"
Click "Manage"
On the left pane, click "Device Manager"
Click the + next to "Display adapters"
This will tell you what type of video card you have.
Then double click on your card. (Mine says radeon 9000 series.)
This will bring up your vid-card properties window.
The second tab at the top will say "Driver." Click on it.
The third line down will say "Driver Version" and then the number. (Mine says 8.252.0.0.)
Depending on what type of vid-card you have, you can either click the "Update driver" button or go to the website of the company which makes your card and download the latest.
I would suggest doing the latter if you have an ATI card.

I'm not sure whether or not you need to install any other patches before installing this one, though.
