  • After a day of RPG'ing in ACCM and having lots of fun and killing more zombies than ten voodoo sorcerers could get in their whole lifes, I came up with a few ideas I thought would be interesting if not just cool to have in ACCM.

    1 ) The flare gun.
    Yeah, I know it sounds stupid, but think about it, has some RPG Value, there should be a command, like /giveflare that gives a player a flaregun they can use to light up the skies and pinpoint their location, sounds abusable, but if you make it command only, well, it makes for a great RPG value :D.

    2 ) Bio Weapons.
    Every played HL2?, well, headcrab shelling, but with zombies, or ravies, who cares, the point is that we're able to toss zombies at each other.

    3 ) More Force Field Textures.
    Jeesus christ Alviss we DO need those!.

    4 ) A Martyrdom Night (?)

    5 ) Tech jets on / off
    Seeing as how someone comes in with a tech armor and ruins the whole RPG is.. well.. you know, tedious, make a switch between them being able to jet or not e.e .


    And that's it :D, alviss, you're welcome to come here and say "you're an idiot" or say "I agree!", kind of like a yes or no.

    It doesn't sound stupid. In a mod I played for another game, it had a flare gun, and you could catch people on fire with it, too. ;)

    I'm a HL2 fan, so, can-do if everyone else agrees on a balancing point.

    And martyrdom is in day and night at the same time, the zombies have horrible odour that acts like global warming, but it isnt, its just dark fumes

    Martyrdom is whatever you want it to be, because I don't think Nukem cares to put a backstory on every map...

    An epicdemic of any size is good. But, it's like fun, too, the more the better.

Maybe a small window at the top (Between the compass and the chatbox) displaying enemy vehicles and resources which are on sensor (If you've used a vehicle in OFP or ArmA, you'll know what I mean). Also, another instrument would be an artificial horizon. I found that when I was piloting the Interceptor and Strike fighter, I couldn't tell if I was flying level, upside down or just nose-diving right into the ground, especially in fog.

    That only happens to me when I fly waaaaaay too high (which is something you shouldn't do in CCM, unless you have a waypoint. Try setting a waypoint on your HUD or getting a friendly to target for you, next time.

    As for Zaxxman's idea, that is do-able with some cheap hacks on the client-side. However, we're trying to make serverside stuff here (we'll still consider your idea, though).
  • Yeah, but I mostly crash when it's foggy. Artificial horizons are just really useful. It's also difficult to tell where you're going when you can only see sky too. That's why I'd want one. It could be either near the vehicle info (Altitude, health, etc.) or part of the HUD (surrounding the crosshairs, basically in the center of the screen)
  • I was thinking about put an altitude under the reticle as a solution to your problem. I was planning to reserve that for something else, but, I guess I can make a work-around somehow...
  • I've come with a new argument to defend my proposition of Glass textures (Blue Pads >_>).

    If, acording to you, ACCM is only meant for killing zombies and not building, then why the hell is there a whole separate Construction gametype with almost all the Zombies and Combat features disabled?

    As for glass textures, we'll include the blue pad (we've already implemented it for the next version). We WON'T include a glass forcefield.

    If you think that... Then you have gotten false info. The main reason of the game is for you to build and defend the bases. And it's not only meant for killing Zombies, it's also for PVP as well. It's just that all the ACCM/CCM hosts choose to fight zombies rather than PVP.

    That's why there are admins, you need to deal with the idiots in the tech armor. (Plus I'm adding new stuff soon anyways.)

It'd be alot nicer being able to say communicate with a brother in arms in assualting a base w/o a bunch of newbs screaming WTF IS GOING ON!? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!? WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE!!!!!! Or any other kind of intrupption.

    Oh, really smart answer, "That's what admins are for", if that's so then why the hell did you disable zombies in Construction game mode?, aren't there admins in there as well?

    First off, there is a Bio-gun in Unreal, you obviously never played. I don't know where you came up with the idea of "Shelling Zombies," no one said that.

    Second, most hosts are too ignorant to pick their admins with some intelligence. If I allowed all the combat aspects back into the Construction gametype, all hell will break loose. You are too new to ACCM to know what this hell is, basically an all out admin apocalypse. And I'm not saying that metaphorically... Zombies, SCG Bullets flying everywhere, Hawk interceptors pwning everything, people spamming missiles and shit... All this going on when people are trying to build and leave angry. Which is why I made more controlled and specific gametypes, if you want hell and unrestricted gametypes, go download ACCM 1.2

    Third, "That's what admins are for" means normally... If someone is ticking you off, you kill them and tell them to stop if they're messing up your RP, but you obviously can't understand that and have to reply with a smartass post.

    I gave the idea of a Zombie-Shelling idea, I know the Bio-Gun from Unreal.

    And jeesus christ, in the time it took you to write that Rant you could have made a small chat command for turning tech armor jets on and off.

  • I think you should make bots for it. In the mod, the bots are idiots. I can go into their base and kill 20 or 30 of them without dying. And they barely do anything. I would have more fun if they were smarter.
  • The mod is meant to be played online, rather with bots. Their nav graphs make them think they can jet -- when they really can't. Why don't you try out the zombies, instead?
  • Their AI is still based on regular base AI, it has never been configured for ACCM or CCM because they are not needed since the mod is ment for online play. Maybe we should have specified this to new players on the freewebs site?
  • I cant play online cuz it says my cd key is already in use, but I dont know why, cuz I am not using it on any other computer. Anyway, I can only play LAN. :(
