Building Challange - Amarr Apocalypse

  • More than a couple... Almost all the Minmatar ships are flying scrapmetal welded together, Gallante ships are just boulbus green blobs, and Caldari ships are "modern art."

Which is why I chose Amarr. Their ships don't look ridiculous and are the most symmetrical out of the 4 races.

    EDIT: ZOMG! DOUBLE POST! :D

    Lol, I agree.

    It looks kinda nice.

    All capital ships do. :p
  • I kind of actually feel like playing again sometime, although I doubt I will, perhaps during the summer I'll reactivate my trial account.
  • What race is everone on Eve anyway? I personaly prefer the Caldary.

Caldari is the most popular followed by Gallante, Amarr, then Minmatar.

    Caldari = Most powerful overall.
Gallante = Good at short range and good with drones.
Amarr = Good at long range and armor defenses.
Minmatar = Good at taking up space.
  • The Caldari ships to me me look the best, many of the rest are like... "Bleh...."
  • I guess I am Amarr. I had no idea what I was doing. =P

Amarr is a good race. In my opinion, it's the second most powerful next to the Caldari. Simply because Amarr ships have long range and tough armor. So you had a good idea on what you were doing, even if you didn't know about it. :p
  • Why not choose Caldari then, if it's the most powerful race whatsoever?
And why didn't you post a schematic-esque thingie like the one CMDR posted :P?
  • Why not choose Caldari then, if it's the most powerful race whatsoever?

I did choose Caldari with my first character. But I just got sick of being it. The ships are just too ugly. And I should restate what I said, what makes it so powerful is because Caldari ships can passive tank. (You can upgrade their ships to have very good shields) And they specialize in missiles. But... Of course... EM damage done by lasers (Amarrians use lasers) are the Caldari's weakness. Which is probably why the Amarrians and Caldari are allied, because they would rip each other apart.

I just noticed... I'm ranting... Anyways... Back to ranting. The Amarrians have the largest empire out of all the races and I think some of the best looking ships. Sure, a few volleys from a Caldari Torpedo launcher would destroy any ship very quickly. But... That ship would need to remain still to be fired upon. And missiles require money to buy, Amarr ships use a crystal, and they last forever or considerably longer than any single missile would.

Simply put, both Amarr and Caldari are the most powerful races, in my opinion. They both have downsides, but they are personally my most two favorite races.

Gallante ships are very powerful too if fitted properly and shouldn't be underestimated. Minmatar ships just go fast and flying a Minmatar ship is like riding a shopping cart down a flight of stairs with an Uzi.

I've always felt the same way. I was gunna be Amarr, but i didn't feel like being some sociopathic religious fuck face.

I'm Caldari and we aren't all powerful, in the fluff we are, but in the game we're kinda weak at PVP (where it counts). We're weak because to get a decent shield tank, we must use all our module slots, which leaves no slots for Electronic Warfare.

Thats why Caldari excel in squad combat, one person tanks, the other tackles (jams the target so they can't escape)

We get missiles though, which are pretty wicked, but have their drawbacks.

My friend (playing for 3 years, in a 0.0 alliance, flies capitals) was telling me that Amarr are the best PvP race. Especially for fleet battles.

    Amarr - Fleet battles
    Caldari - Skirmishes
Gallente - 1v1 PvP to the death
    Minmatar - Raider Pirates.

    Death to Minmatar! :p
  • A combination of the 50% time code price hike and stopping skills from training after your account expires (therefore making training rank 8+ skills to V a pain in the ass that isn't even slightly avoidable) made me stop playing.
  • 1. I don't have the skills.
    2. I don't have the money for the ship(s) or the money to buy the skills.

    and 3.
Lol @ someone trying to build a to-scale Dread or Titan in T2

Eve is based on a frontier colony that went through the "Eve-Gate" a few millenia ago. the gate collapsed, and trapped the colonists in the system. Few thousand years ahead, and you got 4 playable races, with the 5th super race shrouded in mystery.

But theres alot to the game that you wont even experience until after you play for a year +. The major drawback is skilling, its slow, and takes alot of time to get any decent skills. But I have never played a game with as much of a sandbox MMO universe to basically be whatever you want to be. Not to mention, the ability to own solar systems, stations, etc in "lawless (0.0) space" is a neat feature of the game as well. Its really a tough game to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it.

That sounds like a complete rip-off of Escape Velocity Nova, although not many people know that game ):.
  • Actually, I might try that sometime, but, building it to scale won't be fun. I would need some good pics of it too.
  • "If you can see this, you suck." :]

Lol, it's a joke, don't take it personaly, it's not like it was directed to you.

I just like to leave hidden messages here and there for people like you to find. :]

And how did you find it so quickly?

    Awww, me too <3
  • Anyway, here are some of my favorite ships in Eve, I'll probably build something like one of these in T2 sometime, But, I don't think building the Titan to scale in T2even possible, maybe the Dreadnought could be built to scale, but even then that's still pretty large. I'll just make it as large as I can if I do.

  • And, to give you an idea of the scale of the Titan, I've uploaded a pic for you.

    • eve_chart-rmr.jpg
  • Holy fuck, who the hell needs ships that big?!?!
  • Lol, its massive, it probably has its own moon.

It would be fun to have a titan on Eve when you're like 25x the size of the seccond largest ship, you might as well be flying a planet.

    I already posted that chart.

  • Now you're just confusing me, what does that quote have to do with any of this? XD
  • I blame it all on Eolk.

    Lol, that's not nice.
